The Bishop of El Obeid Diocese of the Republic of Sudan, Rt. Rev. Michael Didi has called upon the clergy and religious leaders to live a life that can inspire people and others wishing to join the Catholic Church.

Bishop Didi made the remarks in Lilongwe during the on-going 18th plenary of the Association of Member Episcopal Conference in Eastern Africa (Amecea).

Didi said the youth today are inquisitive; hence, the need for religious leaders to be ready to answer their questions.

“Our lifestyle and practices should be up to our preaching. The youth of the region need to follow the exemplary Christian life of the clergy and the religious,” he said.

Didi further stressed that through the actions of the clergy, they spread the good news to others; hence, the need to attract the youth through actions and good way of life.

According to the Bishop, if this is done and leaders practise their faith, others will also believe and start doing it.

The 18th Amecea plenary assembly, which started on July 16 2014, has attracted delegates from nine countries ended on Saturday with a mass at Maula Cathedral in Lilongwe.
